Where to find a photographer? The first thing to do is ask your friends and see what their wedding pictures look like. Another good tool is the internet, try typing in wedding photographers and the area where you are getting married. However don't limit yourself, many photographers are willing to travel. There also professional photographic associations such as the MPA and the SWPP they will have a list of photographers on their website. Take time to browse and make sure you get the right one.

The most important thing is… to find a photographer who’s pictures you like. It may seem obvious but it is amazing how many people don’t choose a photographer on this bases. If you like the photographers work make sure to tell them so, this will help start a good working relationship. Browse thoroughly the photographer’s web-site. Often a blog will have the latest work so have a look at that as well.

You must like your photographer. Your photographer will spend the lion's share of the day with you so it is imperative that you like whom you are working with. Looking in the “about us” and their blog are a good source of information to get a feel of who they are. But better still is to get in contact either by telephone, e-mail or meeting them.

Who will be photographing your wedding? It is important to know who will be photographing your wedding.
